Bought a kayak and sent it to my parents for my vacation in ct, want to temporarily mount my transducer and start fishing asap when i arrive. i found someone who used plummers putty at bottom of transpducer and duck taped it in place.. Mounting the transducer: turn the kayak over and find the flattest area of the hull. this is where you will want to mount the transducer on the inside of the hull close or next to the scupper holes (which is the strongest area of a hull and has the least amount of flex) that you can easily reach.. If you kayak is anything like mine, it has a wide range of mounting points available for everything from cup holders, rod holders, bait boards and motor mounts. the benefit of using a mounting bracket is the ability to move the location of your transducer easily or even use on another kayak..
